Julia,
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the
photos!!!!! I'm going through them right now and just sighing, in love
with them all. I'm overwhelmed. Thank you. Thank you for your amazing
vision and for everything you've done for us. Ah damn, freaking tears
coming to my eyes now. I really just don't have the words to describe
how wonderful I think the pictures are and you are.
 Jennifer

Julia
After 5 years of marriage, I still love going to your website every now and then to listen to the music and look at my fairytale wedding pics over and over again!!! Gotta admit...that was an awesome couple of days. You're awesome...wish we could do it again...:)
Dorry Olivier

Dear Julia,
I am not sure how I can adequately express to you how I feel about my pictures, Yes, feel. Those images are so much more than what your eye can see, but what your eye can see through and ultimatley, what I can feel. I was never so sure anyone could have the ability to see above, beyond, over and through my physical self, but you have been able to caputre, at least as I believe, those things that I like most about myself, the things that not everyone can or even wants to, see. Its only those who dare (and care) to look close enough. Those pictures are a culmination of the years that it took me to get to the place, in that dress, and in that veil.
With Love and Gratitude,
Aimee

So, I'm a little nervous that this "craziness" in the world is making your love for the work a little shaky. I know that part of your being is "camera in hand" and so you would never stop, but never forget the brides :D Your work is too important, Julia. It truly is so important. When I'm with you, I feel "perfect". It's oddly something that has begun to carry over into my life away from Julia, not because the picture is beautiful to look at (of course it is) but honestly in so many ways, I've been able to "see" myself in a way that I've never "seen" myself before. I know that may sound cliche or cheesy maybe but it's true. My reaction on
Saturday was genuine, not because I was tired or stressed. I was happy. Believe me, the others feel the same way, that overwhelming joy and appreciation.
You make us stop and see ourselves the way we should always see ourselves.
Anyway, I could go on and on forever and ever
Joy,
Paula

Julia,
I cannot believe how relaxed I look during the preparation. I don't have to tell you I was very overwhelmed. People phoning to say they couldn't come, some bridesmaids were missing(among other things). It was a wee bit stressful for a pretty laid back girl. But, you were able to pull it off with me looking so chill WOW! Thank you.
Love and thanks,
Em

Julia and Max:
The pics are, not surprisingly, and very simply put, perfect.
Chris

Hello,
First I would like to tell you how much we LOVE the pictures! You and Max did such an amazing job. Ya'll were like photography ninjas. We didn't even know you were getting all of that. You work really well together. People are raving about the slide show on your blog.
Thank you, Thank you! Thank you!
Amber

Julia,
I gotta tell you..after seeing our engagement pictures and all the other work you've done, my expectations and hopes were high. However, our wedding pictures surpassed my expectations and hopes by a long shot! We had our parents on speaker phone last night and went through the pictures together (big mistake when it came to time because it took 3 hours!) but everyone was in tears and laughing! You did an AMAZING job! You and Max make a dangerously great team!
Jeremy and I are at the stage when all of our friends are getting married and sometimes I feel bad when I see their wedding pictures because you have done such an unbelievable job. It was amazing when we were looking at the pictures because you didn't just capture a picture, you captured the moment! I could remember exactly what I was feeling and thinking!
Again,
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! You are truly AMAZING!
Jessica

Julia,
Words cannot describe how excited I am about our wedding album. Your work is breathtaking! The vivid colors you used, the facial expressions you captured; I felt like I was reliving the night as I looked at each page. You managed to get a photograph of every family member and close friend of mine in their "element". Thank you for creating images for Mark and I to always remember our love and commitment to one another, and how it all began.
Whitney

Julia:
I wanted to drop you and Max a line to reiterate how great it was to have you guys go through this whole wedding thing with us. I think every person who spoke to me at the wedding commented on how amazing the photos from the engagement shoot turned out. And I think the main reason the pictures look so good, besides your astonishing ability to bring out in film what is underneath the surfaces of the world, is the honesty and ease with which you, Em, Max and I have all gotten along. Having you guys around at the rehearsal and the wedding made everything that much more fun and beautiful for Em and I. We both know you were exhausted, but we hope everything was not too stressful, and that you managed to have a good time. I do know that Max manually fed you some groom's cake, so at least you got a chocolate fix.
Also, we checked out the pictures from the Banksy shoot on the blog. Maybe its because of the old quote from your blog, but they reminded me a little bit of a modern (and macabre viz. the lynching) Alice in Wonderland. The logical nonsequiturs (i.e. flying refrigerators, the girl duct taped to the wall and painted over in gray) along with the little rat and the kid writing the Simpsons thing, it all seemed like a trip down some weird and scenic rabbit hole. The compositions were perfect, and the textures and colors added to the loopy feel of the whole shoot. All in all, I thought they were phenomenal, especially the way you described it as photo-tagging the tagger.

As for the lynching picture, really really creepy, but a darkly beautiful shot (both the B/W and the color). I am still trying to figure out what it means, but that is a good thing with a photo, because it means you have to look at it more. I just looked at it again, and I am thinking it is very Dante-esque, the one way and do not enter sign, along with the arrow pointing to the Holiday Inn Superdome, could be the "Abandon Hope All ye Who Enter Here" sign and the creepy Abe Lincoln could be Virgil, Dante's guide, from the beginning of the Inferno.

Anyway, enough rambling (I am at work procrastinating). Suffice to say that Emily and I cannot thank you enough for the beautiful pictures, and for generally being such a great person (and Max too!).

Take Care, and we will talk to you soon.
CH and EBH (!)

Dear Julia,
The Pictures are just wonderful! How fortunate these engaged couples have someone with your talent to capture them at the happiest time of their lives. I am looking forward to meeting you.
Thank you,
Nancy Bozemon

Hi Julia,
I'm Kim, a freshman in college, taking a photography class and my assignment was to find a picture that I like and talk about it. When I opened up the March 2008 issue of Shutterbug magazine, (I don't subscribe, it's the only issue I own) I found a beautiful wedding photograph that took my breath away. I instantly knew I wanted to talk about you and your photos for my assignment. I thought that I wanted to just be a sports photographer because everything else seems so boring and plain, but when I saw your wedding photographs you made me feel like I wanted to either get married so you could be my photographer or take a step in your footsteps. I originally just wanted to ask you what types of cameras you use and other sorts of technical questions but I guess now I'm just praising you. I was doubting myself and your photographs inspired me.
Thank you.
Kim Ardine

Hey Julia,
Funny story. Had a party at my house and for the first time a lot of my friends from work got to see the 16 X 20 we had up at the wedding. Obviously it's framed now and strategically placed in our home. Well, when the 25 or so people came over I was surprised that no one commented on the picture because people usually do, but I just thought this was a tough crowd to please and I didn't say anything. Well, about half way through the night one of the girls was looking at it and she said to me "where in Europe did you buy this picture?" And I was very confused, obviously it's not Europe. Than she said "oh my god that's you!" Ha, she thought it was just some models posing in front of an old building in Europe. Of course then everyone was looking at it and wanting to know more about how we got such an awesome picture. Obviously it was the super photographer!
Jennifer M

I write this with a bit of rermorse. I wish that I had known about you and your talent when I was married about two years ago. I looked at some of the video and pictures taken over the past weekend and you captured much more of my spirit and for the first time in my life, I can say beauty. Never thought I could say that I was beautiful. But you know what? I am. Thank you.

Take care and love,
Lindsay

We are absolutely smitten with Julia. She is one of the best parts of our wedding. Her work is extraordinary and she has captured the most beautiful moments. Not only is she a true artist who we admire deeply, but she has become a very close friend of ours. Her talent must be valued- do not expect a typical wedding photographer.
Andy and Jessica

Julia Bailey is an amazing photographer!! She is not the typical photographer who does the 40 pictures or 1 hour session and then its over. She works until she is satisfied with the pictures she has taken. Photography is not a profession for her, its her passion and talent. Would recommend her to anyone...she is worth every penny and then some more!!
Jeremy Cozart

Julia Bailey is an amazing photographer and really is in a league of her own. She is like no other photographer out there, and that is why I choose her. Her work is extremely artistic and stands out from every other wedding photographer's work I have ever seen. Her photographs continue to amaze me, and I have been more than pleased with all of my pictures. She makes herself extremely available to her clients and is very proffessional on the job. She has always gotten my pictures to me in a timely manor and her attention to detail in her editing is made extremely obvious! It was a true honor to have her as my photographer and I recommend her to everybody!
Olivia Ackel

Dear Julia and Max,
First, and foremost, please excuse the tardiness of this e-mail. We both had so much that we wanted to say to you, but we just needed to find the time to actually sit down and say it all!
Thank you does not even begin to describe the gratitude that we feel towards you both. You were the highlight to a fabulous day. There was a lot of excitement in getting the chance to work with you; yet, you surpassed any expectations on our part. Not only are you talented, but you were both so much fun to work with. Your personalities meshed so well with ours and made an uncommon event relaxed and easy. We are both waited with baited breath to see what you two have created. We feel that you have brought so much to us and we just want to express our honest affection and happiness at having the opportunity to meet you both.
Our families talked endlessly for days about you both. They really adore you guys and really hope that one day you will make your way toward Oregon. So, if you every get the chance, know that you will always be welcome in our home.
Take care and we hope that you both are in good health and spirits. Don’t forget to call if you ever make it to Vegas!
Warm Wishes,
Erika & Brian Fox

HOLY SHIT- you are amazing. Julia, I can't thank you enough. You have no idea how much it means to me that you captured this beautiful time in our life and how much we love each other.
From the bottom of my heart,
Thank you.
Jessica

Julia,
I know it's been 4 months since you've taken our wedding pictures, but I still can't stop looking at them, and I'm still getting compliments on how great they are. I've already had a few of my bridesmaids say that they are going to use you when they get married, and they aren't even engaged. I've been recommending you to everyone who asks about my photos! I want to have another wedding just so I can get more pictures! Thanks again, and I am so glad you were my photographer, especially since I had decided I wanted you to do my wedding photos 4 years ago, even before I met my husband!
Amber Cascio

Julia,
I cannot stop looking at the pictures you developed of our engagement session. The image of Andy and I on Rue Royale is perhaps the most dear and precious moment captured in time. I am mesmerized and touched by this image and I cannot thank you enough for capturing this moment, and for capturing us.
The photograph you took of me is also stunning. I don’t know how you made me look like that, but I like it! It’s the first time I have ever felt beautiful.
You are a special lady with a special talent.
Thank you so very much,
Jessica

Julia,
I'm not sure if words alone explain how I feel about the pictures you have edited so far. My family, friends, and Jim tell me all the time how beautiful I am. It wasn't until I saw the most recent 2 pictures you put in your blog that I actually believed them. I'm 31 years old and I have never felt as beautiful as I did that day. You brought that out in ways that I can't even fully describe. It made me cry. (In a good way).
Thank you.
Jennifer

I just wanted to share the only picture of my mother and father's wedding that was emailed to me by a cousin in Cuba. The power of pictures, how they touch our lives and allow us to experience life from another time. Every image you capture and touch you are leaving a legacy behind that many generations will be able to cherish and have in their family forever. You are making that happen for people every day Julia.
Thank you,
Mairim

I would highly recommend Julia Bailey for photography services. In fact, I would advocate that her keen artistry and creative approach to bridal photography is unmatched. Julia is brilliant, and her work follows suit. I was very reluctant to have my pictures taken, as prior to working with Julia, I was afraid of the camera. I had always felt that I was not photogenic and therefore have always been uneasy around the camera. However, Julia has an impeccable way of making you feel comfortable so that your photographs reflect your inner and outer beauty. Thus, her photographs are literally captivating.they illustrate who the subject is, not just how the subject appears. Her technique is complementary to her interpersonal skills, because once she takes your photograph, she uses her magic to develop the photographs into compelling works of art. With Julia's work, you can really see that she is dedicated to each and every photograph that she edits through her obvious attention to detail, which she never compromises. When I contemplated my wedding photography, I had no idea that I would end up loving our photographs so much that I wanted every single one of them. I had no idea that the photography experience would be the most fun part of the wedding process. Julia has a gift. And she has shared her gift with me by giving to me an array of photographs that stimulate your senses, trigger your intellect, and provide a historic commentary on your life as it was at the time the photographs were taken. If I wrote in a journal every day, I would not be able to read it 30 years from now and remember exactly how I was feeling at that time. Julia's photographs truly capture the moment. And with that moment, they capture the way you look, think and feel. I am so glad that I chose Julia as my photographer, and I can't imagine ever working with anyone else. She is truly amazing, which is so clearly illustrated by her body of work.
Cheers to Julia! Et, laissez les bon temps roulez!

Julia,
The last several days, since returning from NOLA, we have been meaning to drop you a line to say how much we love your work, and how much we are looking forward to seeing the slide show and more from Cate & Mike’s wedding. All our friends, business associates and others have raved about the two pics (superhero & giving the girl a whirl) you put on your blog. Everyone of them has gone on to explore your website and, like we, have fallen in love with the images, and the music is so perfect. You and Max were a special part of a very special weekend. Keep well and keep making wonderful memories.
Jim & Phoebe

Hi Julia,
I was in Atlanta this weekend, shopping for my wedding dress with a couple friends, and we went to a bridal salon called Impressions. The owner started talking to us and she asked me if I had my photographer because she knew of a wonderful photographer from New Orleans. Of course, the photographer was you and it was such a coincidence that you are my photographer. It is such a small world. She said you did a wedding in Florida and took great pictures of the dresses that she sells. I just wanted you to know that people all over love your work and talk so highly of you!
Have a great day!
Kristin

Julia,
I wanted to thank you for the great pictures, the slide show, and all the hard work you put into our pictures. You can be assured that you will be highly recommended by me to others. I know that Tabitha and I enjoyed working with you and look forward to working with you again for all of our upcoming events. I truly appreciate your work and your talent.
Thanks,
Sal

Julia,
We got the photos and they are awesome!!!!!! Your fame in Houston is ever-expanding!!!! Thank you so much for all you have done! You were so easy to work with and I would do it again in a heart beat!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Janna

Dear Julia,
Thank you so much for the pictures. They are simply stunning, artistic and more than we ever could have expected! Thank you for capturing our special day in such a manner that looks like each shot is unique, individualistic and captivating! I am the most unphotogenic person, but you managed to make me look wonderful.
Your work is truly breath taking and moving! From the look of your website, it only keeps getting better and better! I highly recommend you to everyone I know and meet, but I also warn them. I tell them that if you are looking for a basic, run of the mill photographer, she is not your girl. Now, if you are looking for someone to turn a fabulous occasion and create a work of art from it, let me give you her number! I wish you all the best and I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you for everything!
Sincerely,
Alicia

Dear Julia and Max,
Jason and I can not possibly express how thankful we are to have had you as our photographers at our wedding. Your photos are absolutely fantastic and certainly captured all the emotions of the entire weekend! We really enjoyed meeting you both. Your professionalism and sense of humor made the whole experience that much more memorable. We have had so much fun reliving the whole thing through your photos. Every time we go through them to try and narrow it down for our album, we notice something new that we love and that we had missed the first time around! All of our friends and family have been commenting on how incredible our pictures are. they are just ALL so priceless!
Sincerely,
Shayla & Jason

Julia,
It's one of your past brides here checking in to tell you that your photography gets more amazing everytime I check your website! I LOVE your new website and I am just awed each time I see you master a new technique with editing, style, angle etc. WOW!
Just wanted to stop by and drop off a compliment! :)
Joellynn Jones

Julia,
I just wanted to tell you about the incredible response that we have received from showing people your pictures. Everyone has been asking about you, who you are, your costs and how to get in touch with you. I put our pictures up on my myspace page and the response has been unbelievable. We have had friends of friends emailing us and telling us that they are the BEST pictures that they have ever seen. I have quite a few girlfriends that were asking about your travels so that they can use you in the future, for their weddings.
It has been a joy to work with you and it has been so exciting to see the incredible compliments that our pictures have received. As artists too, Justin and I were so careful to find people to work with that we admired and respected as artists, and we are so fortunate to have found you! I will recommend you to everyone that I know or asks.
Keep in touch!
Jenna

Dear Julia
We just received our wedding photo album and we are absolutely delighted with it. You and Max distilled a day of deep feeling and fleeting, beautiful moments into something that we can hold in our hands and share with generations of family and friends. Even strangers looking through this album will not be bored by unfamiliar faces, because the images you caught are skillfully composed and lovely in their own right. Your work speaks for itself and is the most glowing reference of all. Even so, I have already recommended you to friends who are looking for a gifted photographer, and I will continue to do so.
Of all the people we worked with during our wedding, you were our very favorite. Your professionalism and expert eye made things effortless and always produced beautiful results. You will be the photographer we choose to capture the milestones of our lives now and in the future.
Love,
Bethany and David

WOW!!!! We looked at the photos last night and were just so excited about how everything turned out!!! You're awesome!!! We're so happy with everything and appreciate all the time and work you put into everything. The results are great. Hope you have a great holiday and thank you again for such great pictures!
Sincerely,
Megan

I love my pictures so much. The biggest compliment was from a girl I'm not even that close to anymore and she said, "I wish I could get married again just so I could use your photographer and have pictures like that."
I'm so proud of them. My friend Patrick told me that he and his fiance are using you as well. I think you have become the official photographer for all weddings out of the University of Southern Mississippi theatre department. I'm a little worried about having to whittle down the ones I want printed because I love them all.
Elizabeth

I can't stop looking at our pictures. They make me happy. Kevin's sister said she's never been moved to tears from pictures until she saw ours. Sitting in a studio or in front of someone's tripod in a park just can not portray the love felt between two people like your work does. I feel like your pictures captured "us", and it means so much. I want to post them on every wall of my house.
kat

Julia,
I spent all night looking at the pictures. In fact, I couldn't even sleep thinking about them. I can't find words suitable to describe how happy I am with them. I especially love the wedding party shots and you even got a few good ones of myself and hubby. The flower girls and ring bearer shots just broke my heart.
Natalie and Joel look so "in love" and you really captured the love, emotion and joy of their day. You were an especially large part of my wedding budget and I'll never regret my decision to choose you. Your attention to detail and drive to produce the best quality work is so rare. Please don't ever let this become your work but keep it your love. You are a true genius in the world of photography and I'm so glad that you've found your true calling. Most people spend their entire life at work very unhappy or unfulfilled with what they do. You are different there so please trerasure that part of your life.
I'm going to stop writing now but understand that I could go on forever with my praises to you. If you ever need any kind of help, I offer it to you as a friend. I'll be in debt to you forever for what you've given to me. I almost forgot and don't want you to either but I still have a son and we will look forward to working with you again one day. That is something that I can look forward to. Until I hear back from you, Thank you so much for all of the trouble you went through and your willingness to share the unedited photos taken at the wedding.
Best Regards,
Colleen

Hello Ms. Julia,
You are so amazing. We loved all the pictures you took. Even if there were tons! I am so amazed by your work. Chris and I could not be more thankful that you were brought to us by a higher power. I just wish there were a real way to thank you for everything. You have captured not only our day but the love we share with each other and our family and friends. You are truly a blessing to us. Your talent is incomparable. I cant wait to see the pictures in print. You have given us an heir loom our family will cherish for generations to come. Thank you Julia Bailey, not only for your lovely work and talent but for the friendship we feel we also gained. You are truly amazing to me. We love you, thanks again.

Dear Julia,
This letter is long overdue, but very necessary. The way you captured our wedding last September was spectacular. I have never seen such beautiful and artistic wedding pictures. Your style of photography was exactly what we wanted, and more. I have been to so many weddings where the photographer seems to interfere with the flow of the day. Not you. You were able to capture every moment without intrusion or notice. The moments where we thought no one was looking, made the best photos, and you captured them all. Whenever we show our photos to people, they are all blown away. They say they have never seen such beautiful pictures and that they belong in a magazine.
We also want to thank you for traveling to Kansas so shortly after Hurricane Katrina. We know that it was a terrible and stressful time for you and your family, and we are so thankful that we were still able to work with you. You have such a unique talent, we feel so lucky to have had you as our wedding photographer. You are truly a caliber above the rest.
Sincerely,
Amber & Sam

Dear Julia,
Upon seeing the very first picture in Amber's wedding album that I've shown my friends, I'm asked, "Who did the photography?" Thank you for your professionalism, but especially for your incredible talent and creativity. And lastly, thank you for traveling the distance from your home to cover what was one of the most fabulous occassions for our family. Your beautiful work will keep this day forever in our memories!
Sincerely,
Jane Schmitt

I am the mother of Joey Watkins, who married Christy Parr in Houston on October 1st. I am writing to let you know that the photographs you took on that day are stunning. Every picture truly is a work of art; you really captured the spirit and joy of that special day. I am so glad that Christy and Joey were able to have you as their photographer. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Debbie Mitchell

I just need to express what a wonderful job you did on Trisha and William's wedding. I love your eye and the uniqueness of the photographs. Thanks for presevering their special day in such a special way.
Patricia Dixon

WOW your wedding photos are totally over the top awesome!!!! Julia's work is brilliant. Your Mom and Granny and I saw many of them at work today on the computer. No need to say that tears were shed. I can't wait to see the reception pics. I know they will be great as well. Excellent choice in photographers, Erin.
Love, Cousin Melanie

Everyone at my work has been buzzing about your beautiful photography! I told them about the website where they can view everything. Not only did I luck out with the weather that day, but I lucked out in picking the best photographer around. I cried when I looked at the pictures! They were more beautiful than I ever expected!! I can't thank you enough!
Tegan

I loved your photos of our friend's wedding. I just wanted to let you know how impressed I am by all of the fabulous portraits and candid shots of their special day. Each shot is such a work of art, special in its own way, yet together they tell a wonderful tale. I'm so glad I had an opportunity to see them.
